Pornografi Tüketicilerine Nasıl Zarar Veriyor?

Araştırmalara ve bireysel değerlendirmelere göre pornografi, cinsel keyfi arttırmak yerine, uzun vadede daha az tatmin edici cinsel ilişkiye neden oluyor ki birçok porno kullanıcısı için sekse engel bile olabiliyor.  Pornografi bize seks-daha fazla ve daha iyi seks- ile dolu sanal bir dünya vaat eder. Fakat bize söylemediği şey şudur: bir porno kullanıcısı ne kadar fantezi dünyasına dalarsa gerçekte tam zıttını yaşaması da bir o kadar muhtemeldir. Pornografi genellikle, bizim daha nadiren ve daha tatminsiz seks yapmamıza neden olur.

Nasıl mı? Bu durum beyinde başlar.

Bildiğiniz gibi, beyniniz bilim adamlarının “beyin haritanız” olarak adlandırdığı sinir yollarıyla doludur. Bu bir çeşit, milyarlarca küçük örtüşen yolun kafanızdaki bir yürüyüş haritası gibidir. Bu yollar beyninizin farklı bölgelerini birbirine bağlar, deneyimlerinizi anlamanıza ve hayatınızı kontrol etmenize yardımcı olur.

İyi hissettiren bir cinsel deneyim yaşadığınızda, beyniniz yaptığınız şeyi hissettiğiniz zevke iletmek için yeni yollar oluşturur. Esasen, bu durumda beyniniz haritanızın cinsel kısmını yeniden çizer ki böylece daha sonra geri dönüp deneyimi tekrarlayabilesiniz. Aynı şey, birisi pornoyu ilk kez izlediğinde de olur. Porno kullanan kişinin beyni, bu çok güçlü yeni deneyime yanıt olarak yeni yollar inşa etmeye başlar. Bu, beynin “Bu harika bir duygu! Bunu tekrar yapalım.” demesidir.

Ama asıl durum şu ki; beyin haritaları “Kullan ya da kaybet” prensibiyle çalışır. Tıpkı bir yürüyüş parkuru üzerinde yürünülmezse çimlenip kapanacağı gibi, trafik almayan beyin yolları zayıflar ve hatta daha fazla kullanılan daha güçlü yollarla değiştirilebilir.

Tahmin edebileceğiniz gibi, porno izlemek beyinde güçlü ve kalıcı bir etki bırakan çok güçlü bir deneyimdir. Bir kişi her porno izleyişinde -özellikle deneyimini mastürbasyon yaparak ilerletirse- beyin haritasının uyarılmayı pornoya bağlayan kısmı güçlendiriliyor. Bu arada uyarıyı; birini görme, dokunma veya biriyle sarılma gibi şeylere bağlayan yollar kullanılmıyor. Kısa süre içerisinde doğal uyarıcılar yetersiz kalıyor ve birçok porno tüketicisi pornodan başka bir şey tarafından uyarılamayacaklarını fark ediyor.

Sorun ne kadar mı kötü?  Şu şekilde söyleyelim: Doktorlar genç erkekler arasında, porno kullanımları nedeniyle gerçek, canlı bir partnerle birlikte olamama problemi görüyorlar. Otuz yıl önce, bir erkek erektil disfonksiyon (ED) problemi yaşadığında, neredeyse hepsinde bunun nedeni yaşlılığa dayanıyordu. Beden yaşlandıkça ereksiyonu korumak zorlaşır. 35 yaşın altındaki herhangi biri için kronik ED neredeyse hiç duyulmamıştı.  Ama bunlar internet pornosundan önceki günlerdi. Günümüzde forumlar, porno kullanıcılarının ergenlikte ve 20’li yaşlarda ereksiyon yaşayamadıklarından şikâyet etmeleriyle dolup taşıyor. Vücutlarında nasıl bir problem olduğunu bilmek istiyorlar, ama sorun vücutlarında değil, beyinlerinde bulunuyor.

Yapılan birçok çalışma, pornonun; uyarılma, çekicilik ve cinsel performans sorunları ile doğrudan ilişkili olduğunu göstermiştir. Pornografi, ilişkilerde daha az sekse ve daha az cinsel tatmine neden oluyor. Araştırmacılar, porno kullanımı ile düşük cinsel dürtü, erektil disfonksiyon ve orgazma ulaşma sorunu arasında güçlü bir bağlantı olduğunu kanıtladı. Sıkça porno kullanan birçok kişi, gerçek bir partnerle gerçek seks yapmak yerine porno izleyerek daha kolayca uyarılabildikleri bir noktaya geldi. Son zamanlarda yapılan bir araştırma, porno kullanımının lise son sınıfa giden öğrencilerdeki düşük cinsel arzunun muhtemel nedeni olduğu sonucuna vardı. Bunu önceden kim söyleyebilirdi ki? Lise son sınıflar arasında düşük cinsel istek!

Cinsel sorunlardaki bu eğilim özellikle gençler ve ergenler için çok ciddi. Özellikle gelecekleri için önemli tutumlar, tercihler ve beklentiler oluşturdukları bir dönemde beyinleri porno tarafından sarılmaya karşı  savunmasızdır. Gençler pornoda gördüklerini taklit ederler ve pornodan cinsellik hakkında bilgi edindiklerinde, orada gömülü olan yanıltıcı, zararlı önyargıları benimseme tehlikesiyle karşı karşıya kalırlar. Çoğu genç, sağlıklı bir ilişkinin nasıl olduğunu öğrenme şansına sahip olmadan pornografi onlara kendi ilişki versiyonunu öğretir -ki bu versiyon genellikle tahakküm, sadakatsizlik, istismar ve şiddet ile doludur. Çoğu insan böyle tutumları olan biriyle ilişkiye girmek konusunda çok istekli olmadığından, cinselliği pornodan alan gençler genellikle gerçek hayatta romantik partnerlerle bağlantı kurmakta zorlanıyorlar.

Neyse ki, beyin esnek bir organdır.  Pornodan kaynaklanan cinsel işlev bozukluğu tersine çevrilebilir ve porno beyinden çıktıktan sonra bir beyin haritası tekrar iyi çalışması için yeniden düzenlenebilir.
